We offer equestrian riding lessons with on-site EC Certified Level 1 coach, Alex Pinfold. With 18 years riding and showing experience, including many championships from around North America, as well as a strong involvement in Pony Club as a youth, Alex brings a positive, enthusiastic approach to promoting equestrian sport for all ages.
Lessons are available for beginner to intermediate level riders interested in learning solid basics in English riding and developing skills and knowledge for everyday riding, as well as the competitive hunter/jumper show circuit. Emphasis is placed on safety, horsemanship, sportsmanship, teamwork, and of course having fun. We welcome trailer-in lessons, but also have well trained horses available for lessons for riders of all levels for those interested in leasing. We are currently not offering school horses for those who do not own or want to lease.
Training is offered for starting horses and developing green horses for the show ring. Training is traditional English style, with focus on developing competitive hunters and jumpers. Training progress depends somewhat on the horse's previous experience, developmental stage and readiness to learn. Patience and positive reinforcement are of highest priority in order to develop a horse who is trusting, loyal and hard working for the rider. Please discuss with us any concerns or expectations you have of the training program before your horse's training begins.
We take great pride in offering full board and quality care for horses of all ages and disciplines. Horses receive top quality imported Alberta timothy/alfalfa mix hay or local hay (dependant upon their needs), daily turn-out into roomy paddocks, as well as nightly stabling in 12 x 12 box stalls. Boarders have use of all barn amenities including cross-ties, hot & cold water in barn, outdoor wash areas, heated washroom and tack room with fridge & microwave, 70' x 200' all-weather outdoor beach sand riding ring, and miles of local trails, including a 5-minute walk to the nearby hog fuel galloping lane. Hate braiding? Sick of it? No time to braid? Here's your answer!
Professional, quality braiding of manes and tails. Length of time for braiding is approximately a half to one full hour, depending on mane/tail condition and braid type to be done.
Appointments for braiding should be made with at least 24 hours notice. Braiding will be available at select horse shows on Vancouver Island throughout the year, so braiding may be available for day-of appointments.

CLIPPING
Professional quality body clipping available. Keep your horse looking tidy and show ready all year round. Clipping your horse can help your horse work more comfortably and cool out more quickly during winter. Horses in full work, even if not showing, should be clipped during winter to avoid the possibility of overheating during work, or catching a chill when sweaty after a workout. We have many styles available to suit your needs.
